New announcements from Weekend Festival – Pihlaja, BESS and Jesse Markin, among others!
A number of Finnish artists have been added to the program of the Weekend Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary from July 1 to July 3, 2022 in Kantola Event Park in Hämeenlinna.
Next summer, the Weekend Festival will see a diverse line up of international top acts from various music genres as well as top Finnish names and emerging artists. Recent additions for the festival include Averagekidluke, BESS, Ege Zulu, Etta, F, Jambo, Jesse Markin, Kiki, Lauri Haav, Louie Blue, Madboiali, Mary Ann Hawkins, MC KOO, NCO, Pihlaja, Sebastian Noto, Sexmane and Turisti.
Ege Zulu, who has just been selected as the breakthrough artist of YleX 2022 and has released convincing records, and Etta, who is lovely for her versatility, will be on the festival’s stage in 2022.
In addition, the festival will also feature Pihlaja, a well-known singer-songwriter who combines the genres of R&B music and was nominated for the Emma Gala in 2020, as well as BESS, a well-known pop artist known for her numerous gold and platinum hits and holds the top spot on the Finnish singles chart with his song Ram Pam Pam. Alongside them, the Indie star Jesse Markin can also be heard in Hämeenlinna, whose new album NOIR also won an Emma nomination for Markin in the rock category of the year.
YleX participates in curating
The four different performance stages of the Weekend Festival area offer a variety of musical experiences and the artists announced on 10.2. will perform on the YleX stage of the Weekend Festival, which YleX has co-curated.
Weekend Festival stages will feature foreign artists including Post Malone, David Guetta, Tove Lo, Nina Kraviz, Rezz, Tchami and Zhu. Top Finnish artists, such as JVG, Sanni and Pyhimys, have also been attached to the festival in the past. In total, the Weekend Festival will bring more than 80 artists to the Kantola event park in Hämeenlinna next summer, and more artist publications are expected during the spring.
