Weekend Festival’s Time Machine Edition brings a wide range of dance music’s top names and rising stars to Espoo in August. Weekend Festival will be celebrated on August 4-5, 2022 in a new location, Vermo event park.

Next summer, the hottest and world’s best DJs, up-and-coming names and dance music giants will be seen on the Weekend Festival stage. The festival announced yesterday about domestic additions. Today’s confirmed artists for Friday are: Hi-Lo, Isac Elliot, Jengi, Kavinsky, Mau P, Nico De Andrea, Tony Romera and Sexmane. On Saturday, in addition to previously published artists, the festival will feature Matt Sassari and Amber Broos.

“We are excited to be able to make a completely new kind of set this year, also with artists who don’t normally perform in electronic music. Next summer, Weekend Festival will not feature a single traditional live show. For example, Sexmane’s performance combines Finnish hip-hop and dance music, and Isac Elliot will hold a special gig at Weekend Festival, which is tailored to a more danceable format,” suggests Atro Anttila, Weekend Festival’s Marketing Manager.

On Friday, the unique sound of Oliver Heldens alias Hi-Lo, voted among the ten best artists of the DJ Mag Top 100 poll 6 times, has been heard worldwide at the biggest electronic music festivals. The unique, underground nuanced style has also become familiar to millions of clubbers around the world. Also performing on Friday will be French musician, producer, DJ and actor Kavinsky, whose style is influenced by the soundtracks of 1980s electropop films. He came to the attention of the general public especially after his song “Nightcall” was heard in the movie Drive.

Friday’s performers will also be joined by house DJ Mau P, known for his mega-hit Drugs From Amsterdam, who has had a big impact on house music in a short time. The festival crowd will also be entertained by Nico De Andrea, a French producer-DJ, who has become popular with his unique music style, where melancholic pop music is combined with the rhythms of Afrohouse and techno music. He performs on a stage aimed at adults. French house producer Tony Romera will also be seen on the same stage on Friday.

Matt Sassari from France will take the stage on Saturday, whose music is familiar especially to tech house fans. He plays on a stage aimed at adults, as does Belgian melodic techno producer Amber Broos.

The main performers of the Weekend Festival are Martin Garrix, who has been crowned the world’s best DJ four times, the French DJ legend and three-time winner of the world’s best DJ David Guetta, and the Dutch DJ Hardwell, who has twice won the world’s best DJ vote. Friday 21.4. Friday’s second headliner, who is also the most voted artist in the visitor poll, will be announced.
